I don't have a lot of photos with my mom from my childhood. I've got a few of the usual retail store studio pictures that end around age 5, and then there's another one from my senior portraits. Those pictures are nice and I'm glad I have them, but they aren't my favorite. Nope, my favorite picture of my mother is one of her and I on the swingset in my grandma's yard. As soon as I see it, the memories from all the Sundays we spent in that yard come flooding back. It's the only one of her and I together where we lived…where I grew up.
That feeling and connection to place and time in an image is where my passion for photography is firmly rooted. I prefer to work in my clients’ homes and neighborhoods whenever possible, because I believe that portraits should showcase your family and the places you spend your time. This belief drives me to create comfortable and personalized sessions for every client; ultimately creating what I believe are more meaningful photographs.
Photographing people in their homes and turning the ‘every day’ into art is a challenge that I take on with passion and great care. You can trust that every session with me will be personal and unique.
